Abstract: This paper presents a case history of evaluation of the vibration propagation induce by the earthwork controlled blasting. The theoretical aspects of the blasting vibration propagation in the soil and rock media are briefly introduced. The vibration monitoring and safety control of the blasting induced vibrations are also investigated. The monitoring results indicate that the vibrations on the building structures is consistently greater than that of on the ground. A magnifying effect exists and the coefficient of magnification is decreasing with the increase of the distance to the blasting source. In the practice, the effect of magnification on the building structure should be considered.
