Abstract: This paper presents the comprehensive investigation using conventional test borings, geophysical exploration results of the quality of the rock mass with various degrees of weathering, broken zones, potential karst cavity location & filling materials and groundwater inflow location and quantity predictions in the Zijingshan Tunnel in DaqingGuangzhou Expressway Project. The geophysical exploration method used in the investigations are: remote sensing, ground acoustic frequency electric magnetic waves as well as shallow seismic reflection wave methods. The maximum and normal amounts of groundwater inflow were predicted using different modelling methods. The monitoring results indicated that the different with the predicted way only 19.4%.
