Abstract: The State-of-The-Art coral reef restoration methods are reviewed. The coral reef ecological restoration is proposed by using MicrobialInduced Calcite Precipitation (MICP) method. The effect of different concentration of various bacteria solutions and concentration of calcium ion on the cementation result are laboratory investigated. The results indicate that, MICP method can be used in the ecological restoration of coral reefs. The concentration of bacteria and cementation solutions have a significant impact on the cementation results. Appropriate concentration of calcium and bacteria will results in a lower porosity in the coral material and improved material uniformity.
