Abstract: In nonlinear dynamic response analysis of structures, the time history of ground motion is often needed to fit the response spectrum. In this paper, the time domain adjustment of multidamping response spectrum fitting is studied. Based on the timedomain superposition wavelet function method which is widely used in single damping fitting, the simulation algorithm is extended to the multidamping fitting considering the interaction of each damping superposition function. Use a measured ground motion as an example, the ground motion was adjusted and fitted to the normalized response spectrum in accordance with both Chinese normalized response spectra and the European normalized response spectra. The results show that the fitting error can be controlled within allowable range using the proposed multidamping domain adjusting method.
